BIOGRAPHY

Vasilika Anastas was born in Korçë, Albania (then part of the Ottoman Empire), on 15 December 1912, to John and Sofia Adams. She had four siblings: Katina Mitrushi, Jenka Melo, Spiro Adams, and Rako Adams.

In 1933, she immigrated to the United States, settling in South Boston. She worked as a stitcher at Cable Raincoat Co. and later retired as a sales associate from Filene’s Department Store in Boston. She loved traveling and cherished spending time with her family. At some point, she married James Anastas. She was widowed in December 1968.

Vasilika Anastas passed away in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA, on 16 July 2023, at the age of 110 years, 213 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in the U.S. state of Massachusetts, behind Herlda Senhouse.
