Tome Takaoka [Japanese: 高岡トメ] was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

BIOGRAPHY

Tome Takaoka was born on 1 January 1899 in Japan. She became the oldest person in Ibaraki prefecture at the age of 110, following the death of 114-year-old Chiyo Shiraishi on 19 November 2009.

Tome Takaoka died from pneumonia in Ibaraki, Japan on 12 April 2012 at the age of 113 years, 102 days. She had a private funeral attended by members of her family.

RECOGNITION

She was the oldest known person in Ibaraki, Japan when she died.
