Teresa Cantarini was an Italian supercentenarian.
Teresa Cantarini was born in San Bassano, Lombardy, Italy on 1 August 1912. At some point, she got married and had children. In the early 1940s, she moved to Galliate, where she lived in the same house for over 70 years.
In August 2019, she celebrated her 107th birthday with a cake topped with cream and fresh fruit. The celebration was attended by her family as well as members of the local administration, including Deputy Mayor Mirko Lombardo and Councilor Valeria Milani. On her 110th birthday, she received a visit from Mayor Giuseppe Papa, who presented her with two volumes detailing the entire history of the years she had lived in the Cremonese area. He also gave her official family records, including her birth certificate, which had been retrieved from the town hall.
When asked about the secret to her mother’s long life, her daughter Antonietta replied, “Being spoiled by her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.”
Teresa Cantarini passed away in Galliate, Novara Province, Piedmont, Italy, on 8 September 2022, at the age of 110 years, 38 days.
At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in Piedmont, behind Maria Carmela Ricci.
