BIOGRAPHY

Rosa Marcuello Sancho was born in Albalate del Arzobispo, Aragon, Spain, on 13 May 1911. She spent most of her life in her hometown, where she became a beloved figure. She worked both in the fields and at home to support her family. Eventually, she married her husband, Alejandro. She rarely left the town, except for brief visits to Zaragoza with her husband, who lived to the age of 102. All five of her siblings lived past the age of 90.

At the age of 100, after her husband’s passing, she moved to a local nursing home. Despite the challenges of confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic, she remained in good spirits, staying engaged with her family and maintaining her sharp mind, even solving crossword puzzles. Her daughter and three grandchildren visited her often.

Rosa Marcuello Sancho passed away in her sleep in Albalate del Arzobispo, Aragon, Spain, on 23 October 2021, at 110 years, 163 days.
