Kiku Nishimura [Japanese: 西村キク] was a Japanese supercentenarian.
Kiku Nishimura (西村キク) was born in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on May 2, 1897.
At the age of 100, she was living in a nursing home. At the time, all eight of her children were still alive, and she occasionally enjoyed phone conversations with those who lived outside the prefecture. She was known for her strong and proactive personality, always approaching life with a positive attitude.
Nishimura passed away from pneumonia on August 22, 2008, at a nursing home in Satsumasendai, Kagoshima Prefecture, at the age of 111 years and 112 days. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living person in Satsumasendai.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 26 March 2008 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
