Katsuno Mizuno [Japanise: 水野かつの] was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Nagoya city at the time of her death.

BIOGRAPHY

Katsuno Mizuno was born in Japan on 31 March 1896.

She remained active in farming well into her 90s and was reportedly still weeding her garden after reaching the age of 100. In

January 2005, at the age of 108, she became the oldest living resident of Nagoya City.

By the age of 110, she was living at home under the dedicated care of her family. She passed away from natural causes on 12 October 2006, at the age of 110 years and 195 days. At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest person in Aichi Prefecture, behind Kaku Yamanaka and Tama Higuchi.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 3 March 2007 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
