Kame Nakanouchi (Japanese: 中野内亀) was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Kame Nakanouchi (中野内亀) was born on February 20, 1896, in Okawa Village, Kochi Prefecture, Japan.

At the age of 18, she married into a farming family in the village. She cultivated approximately one hectare of farmland, engaged in sericulture, and raised nine children.

When she celebrated her 100th birthday in February 1996, she was reported to be the first resident of Okawa Village to reach the age of 100. Her family said that the secret to her longevity may have been the hard work she had done since her youth, which they believed had strengthened her body. They also noted that she had never suffered from any serious illness. At the time, she was living at home with her family and enjoyed taking daily walks around her house and watching television, especially sumo, while sitting under the kotatsu.

In September 2005, Nakanouchi was reported to be the second-oldest living person in Kochi Prefecture, after Tsuneyo Toyonaga of Tano.

Kame Nakanouchi died in late February 2006, shortly after celebrating her 110th birthday.
