Henrietta Bruce (neé Goddard) was a Barbadian-born American supercentenarian.
Henrietta Bruce was born in Saint Philip, Barbados, on 18 July 1891, as one of 10 siblings. At some point in her youth, she moved with her family to New Jersey. In 1921, she married William B. Bruce, and eventually had a son, William. Her son died in his 80s.
As of her 100th birthday, she resided at the Bay Towers Nursing Home in Providence. Before moving there in her 90s, she lived at Arlington Manor in Cranston. She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, East Providence.
Henrietta Bruce passed away in Providence, Rhode Island, on 21 July 2001, three days following her 110th birthday.
In July 2001, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming the first (known) Barbadian-born supercentenarian.
At the time of her passing, she was the oldest (known) living person in the U.S. state of Rhode Island.
