Ferenc Bakó, Hungary’s Oldest Man, Dies at 107
Freeman was born in Brooklyn, New York on 13 June 1898. She remembered hearing on the radio about the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.
In 1923, Freeman moved into a new home in Brooklyn, where she would live for the rest of her life. At the time, the Freemans were the only African-American family in the neighbourhood.
As a supercentenarian, Freeman kept a healthy diet, and also drank a small glass of wine nightly. She died on 31 January 2009 at the age of 110 years, 232 days.
